ST HUGH’S FILM & SUPPER NIGHT, Monday 5th December, from 6.15pm

Post date: Dec 2, 2016 1:42:34 PM

Apologies to everyone who was looking forward to seeing the 1951 version of  “A Christmas Carol.”  Unfortunately, the remastered DVD recently purchased has very poor sound and is unsuitable for a large group.  We have decided to show the 1984 version with George C. Scott as Scrooge.  The running time is 96 minutes, so we will have a slightly extended supper (cheeses, cold meats, pickles and roast potatoes, followed by mince pies/fruit) then run the film from approx. 7.30 to 9.06pm.  Tickets £5 (£3 for students) are still available from Deacon David or Mary Wilford (01522 800114).

St Hugh’s Film & Supper Night will continue next year, starting on Monday, 9th January.  We hope to show “Romero” (1989) about the work, life and death of Oscar Romero, Archbishop of San Salvador, assassinated in 1980.
