YEAR OF FAITH - 50 years after Vatican II

posted 1 Feb 2013, 05:51 by Susan Weaver
In his original announcement of the Second Vatican Council, Pope John XXIII said that the Church had to open the windows.  These few words unleashed new energies of hope around the world……

Fifty years down the path of history, we need to stir up again the memories of those hopes and dreams and find again the golden key that opens the tremendous treasure of the Second Vatican Council.  (from an article by John Quinn, Archbishop Emeritus of San Francisco, in The
Tablet, 27 October 2012)

Study Day on Vatican II - Sat, 9th February, 10am to 4pm at the Mackworth Diocesan Centre.  Please see the poster at the back of church for further details and how to book.

Next Year of Faith discussion group – Saturday, 23rd February in St Hugh’s hall after Mass.  Bishop Malcolm’s topic for February is: The Holy Spirit.
