Ten million people are facing a devastating drought in the East and Horn of Africa. Very poor rains have led to crop failure, serious food and water shortages and the deaths of hundreds of thousands of animals. With no rain expected until October, the situation can only get worse, and unless urgent help is received, the drought will lead to food shortages on an unprecedented scale.
Next Sunday you will be given the opportunity to help. There will be a second collection at all Masses. If you are a tax payer PLEASE take home one of the CAFOD envelopes and fill in your details on the back of the envelope and make your donation go a little bit further.
After Mass there will be a coffee morning in the church hall. Proceeds from which will be
divided between the Emergency Appeal and CAFOD’s Connect 2: Rwanda project, which is the charity adopted by St Hugh’s Watercolour Group.
