From Fr. Matthew:

Many of you will have heard that churches are beginning to re-open for private prayer. This doesn’t mean every church, but only those which have been given government permission. Each church which feels it can meet the very stringent safety guidelines set by the government can apply to re-open, and permission will be given on a case by case basis. We are currently preparing to re-open our churches here in Lincoln, at the moment I cannot give a date when this will happen for all churches, Thankfully, permission has now been granted for St. Hugh’s Church to open from 9am until noon on Saturdays from now on until further notice. There will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on the altar throughout that period. Therefore, I ask for silence in the church. If you wish to speak to people you haven’t seen for a long time please do so outside as we have only been given permission to open for prayer. You will see that the church has been laid out to assist social distancing. A maximum of 40 people will be allowed in the church at any one time, so please be aware when you are praying in the church that others may be waiting outside. We regret that no toilet facilities will be available. These are the government guidelines, and it is important that we adhere to them and are seen to do so in order that our churches can open as soon as possible for public worship.
